Rent
text, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson
Italian translation by Andrea Ascari
mise en espace by Costanza Filaroni, Francesca Taverni

“Rent,” a modern take on Giacomo Puccini’s Bohème, is the groundbreaking musical by Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Larson.
It tells the story of a group of bohemians who struggle to express themselves through their art and base their lives on love. Against the backdrop of New York’s East Village, these friends seek success and acceptance while enduring poverty, illness, and the spread of AIDS. A story in which love transcends sexual barriers, where drama is mixed with music, heroin, and the tragic urge to live, nevertheless sending a message of love and hope to convey that there is no right time, only the moment.
